Good to know about Lennox
Four code systems
Lennox has used four different diagnostic systems. Newer Elite and Signature models show an E plus three numbers; Merit models blink. The same blink count can mean different faults on different models, so the model number matters.
Some parts are Lennox-only
Common parts are easy to get. Lennox-only parts, like communicating control boards, may need to be ordered. We tell you when and what it costs first.
Warranty
Registered within 60 days, Merit and Elite carry 10 years of parts coverage; unregistered, 5. The separate Lennox extended plan needs a participating Lennox dealer, so check your paperwork if you bought it.

Lennox furnace repair questions
Do I need a Lennox dealer to repair my furnace?
No. Lennox says any licensed HVAC professional can service it. The exception is Lennox’s separate extended plan, which needs a participating Lennox dealer.
My Lennox is flashing a code. What should I do?
Write down the code or the blink count and the model number off the door label. Our Lennox code guide is linked at the bottom of this page.
It lights, then shuts off after a few seconds. Why?
Usually a dirty flame sensor, and sometimes a weak igniter or a pressure switch. A clean sensor is often a short visit.
How much does a furnace repair cost?
Typical Western Washington furnace repairs run $150–$700. It depends on the part, not the brand. Industry range, not a quote. Your exact price comes upfront and you approve it first.
Can you come out today?
Same-day service is available, and no heat in a cold snap gets priority. A technician reaches out within 1 business hour.
